Fighting game enthusiasts roll up - Street Fighter, MvC, Guilty Gear
So, how many of you out there play fighters? I play Akatsuki Blitzkampf (the last of a dying breed) and am trying to get into SFIII: 3rd Strike, but am hampered due to lack of decent arcade stick (they're not cheap).
How many of you play any 2d fighter of any kind?
Also-anyone played the new SF4 yet? What's it like?

I play Garou and ST and dabble in 3S.
You should PM me your AIM so we can play on nFBA or GGPO. You should get into Garou it is basically the best SNK fighter, and plays like 3S if it was made by SNK and had cooler characters. (TERRY BOGARD)

2df sucks because it doesn't support launching thru the new firefox yet afaik and you couldn't get me enough women to make me open Internet Explorer.
If you had AIM we could totally play. It's free, jeez. Or MSN. or something.
Also I have to redownload Akatsuki still. Need to play gun nun again. Got my new PC so I might as well get on that asap. Redownloaded Melty Blood: AC so I'm pretty much good to go!

I got it to work by getting .NET 3.5 then installing clickOnce application launcher (http://addons.mozilla.org/firefox/addon/1608) which is a Firefox addon to enable you to launch those types of applications. That's how I got it to work for Firefox 2.1.x at least.
EDIT: http://www.megaupload.com/?d=VPSZEP7E is the FF3 version.

Well, China is just laggy. You're going to have to wait 2 weeks or so until I get back to the UK before you can play me >.>.
A few people play stuff on guru IRC though.

Teken and SoulCalibur are the 2 fighters, if you can count SoulCalibur as a fighter....
I grew up with Mortal combat and Street Fighter 2D fighters but have left them behind for 3D, just way more fun

I toy around with fighters, but I'm only a novice with them. The VF and soul calibur series are my favorites. I think the last 2D fighter I played was a quick trail of that Arcana Heart game. It wasn't that great though. It added a new dimension to juggling but overall it was pretty shallow.
I'll probably be getting SC4 tomorrow.

I'm a big fan of the Soul Calibur and Mortal Kombat franchises. I like how they've taken the games from just fighting to having action/rpg modes as well. SC3 and MK: Amargeddon had pretty good alternative gaming styles to the different games included inside. Motor Kombat was fun to run with the buddies after a few drinks and the action-fighter story mode wasn't half bad. SC3's strategy-fighter-rpg story mode was pretty fun too.
Can't wait to give SC4 a shot... Also, AHAHAHAHAA PS3 OWNERS GET DARTH VADER AND 360 OWNERS GET YODA! Microsoft must have pulled the short straw on that one--GET IT? SHORT STRAW? SHORT? YODA IS SHORT? HAHAHAA Ok I'll stop now. *walks out with head down*

I'm a Soul Calibur and Tekken guy. Mortal Kombat's combat is too rigid for me, I feel like its almost turn based, its just not fluid enough. As far as Darth Vader or Yoda in Soul Calibur 4, I would've preferred Darth Maul over both of them.

Yeah, Darth Maul would have been crazy... But they're going for the more iconic characters I guess. If they come out with a Wii version, maybe they'll get him! But knowing how lame they will be, it'll probably be Luke Skywalker, Han Solo, Chewbacca or an Ewok.
